Terms and Conditions
These terms govern use of the Nirnaya web application, its API and its browser extension. Using any of them means accepting what follows.

Accounts
Accounts are issued to an organisation, and by that organisation to named individuals. An account is personal: credentials are not to be shared, and the account holder is responsible for activity conducted under their sign-in. Suspected compromise should be reported to the organisation's administrator, who can revoke and reissue access.
There is no self-service registration and no self-service password reset. Both are handled by the administrator of the organisation that holds the account.
Permitted use
The platform may be used to search, assemble and report on public records for a lawful professional purpose — due diligence, credit and recovery work, litigation research, compliance and similar. You are responsible for having a lawful basis for each investigation you run.
Prohibited use
The platform must not be used to:
- harass, stalk, intimidate or threaten any person, or to locate a person for any of those purposes;
- make a decision about a person's credit, employment, housing, insurance or eligibility for a benefit where the law requires a regulated consumer report for that decision;
- publish, resell or redistribute collected records as a data product, or to build a competing database from them;
- circumvent access controls, payment requirements, rate limits or terms of any source portal;
- subject any source portal to automated request volumes beyond what the collectors are designed to issue;
- reverse engineer, resell or sublicense the platform or the extension, or share access with anyone outside the organisation holding the account.
Source portals
The court, tribunal and registry websites the platform searches are operated by third parties under their own terms. Those terms apply to you when the platform acts on your instruction, and their availability, accuracy and fees are outside our control. Where a registry charges for a search, that charge is between you and the registry.
What the results are — and are not
Output is a compilation of public records, with citations back to the source document. It is raw material for a professional judgement, not the judgement itself.
A source that has not been searched is reported as unsearched, never as clear. Absence of a record is never asserted as absence of a matter.
- Nothing produced by the platform is legal advice, and using it creates no advocate–client relationship.
- Records are only as complete and as current as the source portal that published them. Portals go down, omit filings, and print the same case differently in two places.
- Where the platform concludes that two records describe the same person or company, that is an inference to be verified, not a finding. Verify against the cited source before relying on it.
- AI-assisted extraction and summaries are conveniences over the cited documents. The document governs, not the summary.
You are responsible for verifying any record against its cited source before acting on it, and for any decision you take on the basis of a report.
The browser extension
The extension is part of the service and these terms cover it. It operates on the public portals listed in its manifest, on your instruction and while you are signed in, and it requires a browser debugging permission in order to capture a rendered page as a citable PDF — which is why the browser displays a debugging notice during a collection run. What it accesses and why is set out in the Privacy Policy. It may be removed from the browser at any time.
Your data and ours
The investigations, documents and reports created under an account belong to the organisation that holds the account. A limited licence to host, process and display that content is granted so the service can be provided. The platform itself — its software, interface, extraction logic and the extension — remains ours, and nothing here transfers any right in it.
Availability and changes
The service is provided on an ongoing basis but not guaranteed to be uninterrupted. Maintenance, portal outages and source changes will cause gaps. Features may be added, changed or withdrawn; where a change materially reduces what the service does, account holders will be told.
Suspension and termination
Access may be suspended or ended for a breach of these terms, particularly the prohibited uses above, or where required by law. An organisation may end its use at any time; on termination, its investigations are deleted or returned at its direction.
Disclaimer and liability
To the extent permitted by law, the service is provided as is, without warranty of accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose or uninterrupted availability. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, for loss of profit or opportunity, or for any decision taken on the basis of a record that was not verified against its cited source. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Indemnity
You agree to cover claims arising from your use of the platform in breach of these terms, including any claim that an investigation you ran lacked a lawful basis.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised. The date at the top of this page records the last revision, and continued use after a material change takes effect means the revised terms are accepted.
Contact
Questions about these terms should be raised with the administrator of the organisation that issued your account, who will escalate to the platform operator.
